SUPPORT ADC’S GOAL TO RAISE $10K TO FULFILL ITS MISSION TO EDUCATE, EMPOWER & ENGAGE THE NEXT GENERATION IN OUR COMMUNITIES

WHERE YOUR DONATION GOES
African Diaspora for Change
The Mission of African Diaspora for Change is to educate, empower and engage the next generation of leaders in order to affect change in perception and policy. Our vision is to become a bridge to unite the African Diaspora in the U.S. and throughout the world—building a strong coalition that will help dispel the negative images of African descendants and creating a movement for real change regarding policies towards her people.
Our online programs, forums and initiatives are already connecting thousands of people worldwide and providing critical platforms for dialogue and information exchange. Your donation* of $5, $10, $20 or more will help us to continue reaching our goals through the following programs:
1. EDUCATE: Culture & Cocktails
ADC educates its community about Africa and people of African descent, dispelling negative images and perceptions. We showcase the similarities we have in the Diaspora and celebrate the differences as strengths.
HOW WE DO THIS: At each Culture & Cocktails, the Diaspora is represented across the board in music, dance, storytelling and fashion. This event educates attendees on the vast differences, as well as many similarities, between peoples of the continent.

2. EMPOWER: Diaspora Dialogues
At ADC we develop forums where information is exchanged to trigger real action for creating real change, success stories, and development in Africa and the Diaspora.
HOW WE DO THIS: We provide a moderated forum for discussing issues in the Black Diaspora and addressing many of the misconceptions we have about one another. As one of our featured “Dialogue” events, we have partnered with Kobina Aidoo, producer of The Neo African-Americans—a film that explores how rapid, voluntary immigration from Africa and the Caribbean to America is transforming the African American narrative.

3. ENGAGE: Beyond the Vote Initiative
Civic participation is necessary in order to help change and/or influence the policies that negatively impact people of African descent.
HOW WE DO THIS: How do we make our voices heard as Black immigrants about the issues that matter most to us: like resources for our communities and immigration reform? Why is it important that we engage our elected officials? These are the questions that will be answered as part of ADC’s “Beyond the Vote” Initiative that will engage Black immigrants in civic participation through a resource-rich web site, town hall meetings and workshops, toolkits and more. It’s time for us to have a say in the issues that affect us the most—our voices matter.
Thank you for supporting our work!
